MIR Fund

Support students today and leave a legacy for tomorrow

Each day a child spends at MIR is made possible by the MIR Fund. While tuition supports the basics of education at MIR, the MIR Fund provides vital financial support for

  • Program excellence and enhancements
  • Capital improvements to our facility
  • Staff training and development
  • Tuition assistance for MIR students

The MIR Fund is an annual giving program that supplements MIR's budget to ensure we can provide the best education and opportunities for students now and in the future.

Donations to the MIR Fund may be given at any time. Our fiscal year runs from July 1 of the current year through June 30 of the following year.

Common Questions

The MIR fund is an unrestricted giving fund. While tuition supports the basics of education at MIR, the MIR Fund provides vital financial support for

  • Facilities: Ensuring secure and well-maintained classrooms and grounds
  • Faculty: Enhancing teachers’ skills through professional development
  • Financial aid: Offering tuition assistance to families experiencing unexpected financial challenges

Each year, we strive for 100% community participation in the MIR Fund (Board, staff, and families). We ask for people to give an amount that is meaningful to them.

MIR pursues additional outside funding to support its initiatives. Organizations awarding grants look at MIR Fund participation as an indicator of the school's strength and long-term viability.

MIR achieved 100% or very close to 100% participation from 2012 until the COVID pandemic. This high participation rate helped the school to win grants of more than $215,000 that were used to

  • Complete construction of the Student Services Center to support the success of every student at MIR.
  • Install perimeter fencing around the entire campus as part of our safety initiative
  • Offer significant tuition assistance for families experiencing job losses due to COVID-19.
  • Offer tuition assistance to families in need before and after the pandemic.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 during the 2023-24 school year. In addition to financial aid and staff development, the funds will help us begin new and necessary projects based on our most recent safety assessment.

Tuition supports the basics of education at MIR. The MIR Fund provides the support required to enhance the breadth and depth of our curriculum, attract and retain the finest staff, augment financial aid, and sustain the operation and maintenance of the campus and classrooms.

Asking for voluntary donations lets people give according to their ability, and donations may be tax deductible.

The MIR Fund immediately and directly benefits your child’s learning in a safe, enriching environment and ensures the same quality education for future students. Money received this school year is immediately applied to facilities enhancements, financial aid, and staff development.

You are not required to donate. Your donation is a greatly appreciated voluntary gift.

Donate online using our donation form.

Please do not make a donation through TADS. All payments made through TADS are processed as tuition payments.

You may donate at any time during the school year using the donation form. All donations for the 2023-24 MIR Fund must be made by June 30, 2024.

The MIR Fund is used for current-year expenditures. For that reason, we ask that you consider unrestricted gifts of cash or securities. Monetary donations also strengthen our efforts in seeking funding from outside sources.

MIR is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization governed by a Board of Trustees. Each year the Head of School and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) work with the Finance Committee to prepare an annual budget for the Board of Trustees to review and approve. The Finance Committee works with the CFO throughout the year to ensure that income and expenses are kept within the approved budget. Contact the office for more details.

Each family’s financial situation is different. Please work with a qualified tax professional to determine the extent to which you may deduct your donation.
